Felicity Wilcox b:w

Felicity Wilcox is an interdisciplinary composer whose output encompasses concert music, film music, music for theatre, installation, live events, dance and radio. She has received commissions for many leading artists and ensembles, including Vivid Sydney, Ensemble Offspring, Ironwood, Decibel, Halcyon Ensemble, the Australia Piano Quartet, Kammerklang Chamber Orchestra, and the Sydney Symphony Fellows. Felicity’s background as a screen composer informs her practice-based research in interactive concert music. Her compositions have been performed across Australia, and broadcast nationally and internationally on radio and television and in major film festivals including Berlin, New York, London, Paris, Chicago, Venice, Tokyo and Toronto.

Under the alias Felicity Fox, she has enjoyed a successful twenty-five year career as a screen composer and worked extensively as a composer and music director, with a highlight being her role as Assistant Music Director and Composer for the Paralympic Games opening Ceremony in Sydney 2000. She has composed, recorded and produced the soundtracks to many award-winning film and television productions, and has received multiple ARIA, AFI and APRA/AGSC awards and nominations for her film music. Felicity continues to compose for the screen around her concert commissions and multimedia projects.

Felicity was asked to design the first course in Composition for the Moving Image at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and has been lecturer for this course since 2013. Since 2010, Felicity has also been a sought-after sessional lecturer in composition, music analysis, musical multimedia and composer-performer collaboration at several leading tertiary institutions in the Sydney region.
